message from the division chair
Hello art educators. I am thrilled to serve as the Supervision and Administration Division Leader for the Virginia Art Education Association. As a seasoned educator with 30 years of experience in multiple teaching environments, and currently serving as the Visual Fine Art Coordinator for Virginia Beach City Public Schools, I am honored to lead and inspire fellow art educators. My academic background, includes a B.F.A from Virginia Commonwealth University, Master's degree from Kutztown University, and Ed.S. from Virginia Tech, along with my current pursuit of a doctorate through Indiana University. This academic journey has equipped me with the knowledge and skills necessary to make a difference through this role. I firmly believe that equal access to quality professional development, learning activities and strategies are essential for art teachers to create engaging and meaningful learning experiences for their students. As such, I am committed to providing Virginia Art Educators with the necessary resources to build their knowledge and capacity as art educators. With our great team of VAEA leaders, I am confident that Virginia Art Educators will continue to thrive and set new standards in the field of art education. RESOURCESVAEA Newsletter
