SUBJECT:           Virginia Commission for the Arts Comment Period Opens for 2016-2017 Guidelines for Funding

Over the last year, the Virginia Commission for the Arts (VCA) updated its Guidelines for Funding at  http://www.arts.virginia.gov/grants_guidelines.html.  At the September 30, 2015, meeting of the Commission, the Board voted to approve the Guidelines for Fundingin concept and to release the draft for a three-month public comment period.

In December, at the conclusion of the comment period, the Commission Board will review any comments and make decisions on whether to further revise or amend the Guidelines for Funding for 2016-2017. Today the VCA is publicly releasing the draft, and invites suggestions or amendments from persons across the state.

The public comment period for Guidelines for Funding review will close on December 8, 2015. The Commission Board will vote on the final Guidelines for Funding on December 9, 2015. These procedures and regulations will then be used to evaluate applications for grants to the VCA for FY17.

The draft version of the 2016-2017 Guidelines to Funding are available online at http://www.arts.virginia.gov/2015_10.html.  Changes to the Guidelines for Funding are highlighted in red in this document.  The VCA looks forward to hearing from you.
